Σοκ! Είναι πιο epic than expected! :-)
Κυκλοφόρησε χθες στο YouTube [και μάλιστα σε HD720p!] ολόκληρη η σεκάνς των opening credits της ταινίας του Fincher! Τα λόγια είναι περιττά, είναι η πιο εντυπωσιακή title sequence που έχουμε δει τα τελευταία χρόνια! Είχαμε πάρει μια ιδέα στα μέσα Δεκέμβρη από το "music video" το οποίο, όπως αποδεικνύεται τώρα, ήταν μια ζουμαρισμένη εκδοχή της κανονικής σεκάνς του φιλμ με αυτό το χαρακτηριστικό low-resolution effect σε μπλε απόχρωση. Η κανονική σεκάνς που βλέπουμε σήμερα είναι κατάμαυρη! Ντυμένη πάντα με τη διασκευή στο "Immigrant Song" από Trent Reznor και Karen O, αλλά κατάμαυρη, υγρή και εφιαλτική (υποτίθεται οτι είναι εφιάλτης της Lisbeth Salander!).
Αποτελεί δημιουργία του Tim Miller του Blur Studio [και όχι του Kyle Cooper όπως εικαζόταν από το music video] και έχει όπως είχαμε πει αυτή την αίσθηση των σεκάνς των ταινιών του James Bond, τραβηγμένη όμως στα άκρα με μια edgy tech αισθητική με πληκτρολόγια και USB καλώδια! Και με εκρήξεις βίας! Εκτός από τη μορφή του... Girl και των τατουάζ της, ξεχωρίζει επίσης η μορφή του Blomkvist (Daniel Craig), καθώς και μια συνεχής παρουσία λουλουδιών, πιθανότατα αναφορά σε αυτά που λαμβάνει κάθε χρόνο ο χαρακτήρας του "πατέρα" Christopher Plummer, όπως έχουμε δει στο trailer.
Ε, ο'τι καλύτερο ήταν αυτό για να μας φτιάξει ακόμα περισσότερο εν όψει της Πέμπτης! She's coming! :-D
The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo - Full Title Sequence

Η title sequence διοχετεύτηκε από το tumblr blog της ταινίας, το Mouth Taped Shut αποκλειστικά στο site io9 μαζί με μια πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα συνέντευξη του δημιουργού της Tim Miller. Τσέκαρε την οπωσδήποτε! Εξηγεί βήμα-βήμα τον τρόπο δουλειάς του, τη συνεργασία του με τον Fincher και τί συμβολίζει κάθε στοιχείο της σεκάνς. Τα πιο ενδιαφέροντα σημεία:
..."[The title sequence] was always supposed to be a very abstract version of key moments in the book and about Lisbeth. It was really supposed to be her nightmare sequence. Being a hacker is such a big part of her personality and who she was"... "we came up with the keyboard elements"... "I wrote one [vignette] called "The Hacker Inside," where we wanted to reveal her inner nature and melt it all away"... "The first designs were very slick and robotic and futuristic. Every time I would show David a design he would say, "More Tandy!" It's the shitty little computers from Radio Shack, the Tandy computers"... "really old technology. And David would go "More Tandy," until we ended up with something that looked like we glued a bunch of computer parts found at a junkyard together"...
..."When we originally started out he wanted to find some sort of defining creative pulsar that we could head towards"... "there was this artist who would paint himself black and stand in the middle of a gallery, David really responded to that"... "And, for whatever reason, a lot of the vignettes I wrote had liquid in them. Which was a big part of the story, the drowning, the river that separated the island. And David said let's just put liquid in all of them and it will be this primordial dream ooze that's a part of every vignette. It ties everything together other than the black on black"...
..."If you haven't read the book, you may not know that the wasp digging itself out of the eye is the tattoo on her neck"... "So there's the Phoenix tattoo, which is the Phoenix in the piece. And then the Dragon obviously"...
..."We wanted to represent the cycle of life and death that these flowers represented. They were sent to him every year on his birthday [Henrik Vanger, played by Christopher Plummer] for all these years"...
"The Blomkvist moment where he's being strangled by these strips of newspapers come alive. You might not pick up on the fact that they're bits of newspaper. David wanted that one to represent that [Blomkvist] is trying to speak the truth and the establishment is forever smothering him."
"There's two different sequences with hands, one with Lisbeth — that's my favorite. The hands come up and caress her face, and then they melt it"... "the same kind of thing happens to Blomkvist except he's torn apart by the hands"... "the hands on her face they're these gnarled and very textured"... "the hands on Blomkvist, they're more refined. It speaks to wealth and power trying to silence him and rip him apart. They're rich people hands, and with her it's the hands of bad men"...
"There's a woman who is being beaten and her face is shattered. That's supposed to represent Lisbeth's mother being beaten by her father"... "The vignettes are not just from this movie"... "We wanted to tell the story of all three books in these 2 and a half minutes. Moments like the beating of the Mother and the burning Father are from the later books."
..."the music really drives the editorial process in such a huge way. If you don't have that giant piece of the puzzle in place, everything can shift around a lot more. Having that from day one, because David was clear that this was it, having that stone in the middle of the river made everything else conform to it"...
Παράλληλα τις τελευταίες δέκα μέρες το Mouth Taped Shut έδινε preview του title sequence με τη μορφή downloadable wallpapers.

Και ναι! Έχουμε music video για τη διασκευή που έκαναν Trent Reznor (των Nine Inch Nails) και Atticus Ross μαζί με την Karen O των Yeah Yeah Yeahs στο "Immigrant Song" των Led Zeppelin, του κομματιού που από το πρώτο teaser trailer το Μάιο έχει γίνει trademark κανονικό του "Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". Έσκασε το Σάββατο στο Pitchfork εντελώς αναπάντεχα και μυστηριωδώς, μόνο με την επισήμανση οτι "features a collage created by Fincher for the title sequence of the film".

Αν και στην αρχή δεν καταλαβαίνεις τί ακριβώς δείχνει! :-D
Είναι το Girl with the Dragon Tattoo σε οπτικό στυλ κατι μεταξύ Alien [θυμάσαι οτι ο Fincher είχε ντεμπουτάρει στις μεγάλου μήκους με το ψιλο-αποτυχημένο "Alien 3", ε?] και Terminator, με μια αίσθηση από τα κλασικά opening titles του James Bond! Εννοείται στο πολύ πιο... hardcore! ;-)
Μέχρι και σήμερα δεν έχω δει καποια επίσημη ανακοίνωση που να εξηγεί ποιός το έχει φτιάξει, οι περισσότερες πηγές (όπως πχ το Joblo και το /Film) λένε οτι πρόκειται για extended έκδοση των opening credits της ταινίας και μιλάνε για πιθανή συνεργασία Fincher και Kyle Cooper, του title designer που είχε κάνει τους θρυλικούς πλέον τίτλους για το "Seven" [ναι, αυτούς που θυμάσαι με τον Jon Doe και το scrapbook! :-D]. Και όπως πολύ σωστά επισημαίνει το /Film, εκείνη ήταν και η πρώτη συνεργασία του Fincher με τον Trent Reznor αφού είχε χρησιμοποιηθεί remix του "Closer" των Nine Inch Nails! Είδες πώς δένουν όλα? :-D
Μάλιστα το /Film έχει και ενα video από το Entertainment Tonight με μερικά never before seen πλάνα της ταινίας!
Και μιας και δεν το έχω ανεβάσει εδώ στο blog, ορίστε και το 8λεπτο extended trailer, το οποίο συνόδευσε την προηγούμενη βδομάδα την επική (4 διαφορετικές εκδόσεις!) κυκλοφορία του επικού [3-Hours, 3-Discs, 6-LPs, 39-Tracks!] soundtrack της ταινίας από το (Οσκαρούχο πλέον μετά το "Social Network") δίδυμο των Trent Reznor και Atticus Ross. Λίγες μέρες μόνο έμειναν για την [δυστυχώς όχι την ελληνική ακόμα!:-B] πρεμιέρα:
