Black Swan VFX featurette cut-down

Χα!

δε γίνεσαι prima μπαλαρίνα με 1 χρόνο δουλειά!], η Fox κατέβασε από το site της, από το YouTube και από [σχεδόν ;-P] οπουδήποτε αλλού το featurette video με τα visual FX που έκανε η Look Effects για την ταινία του Darren Aronofsky και το αντικατέστησε με μια cut-down εκδοχή του.

[Careful! Lots of SPOILERS!]

Original video

Cut-down video

Δεν είμαι σίγουρος πότε ακριβώς είχε ανέβει το original, φαίνεται οτι ανέβηκε την Τετάρτη 26/1 στο Rope of Silicon [τώρα υπάρχει μόνο η cut-down εκδοχή, ασφαλώς χωρίς καμία σχετική επισήμανση :-P], ενώ υπάρχει αναφορά σε αυτό, το original, στις 28/1 στο blog carpetbagger των N.Y.Times: "...have released a featurette about the effects used in the film, including erasing crew members from all those mirror shots and putting Natalie Portman’s head on a different body (that of Sarah Lane, a principal with American Ballet Theater, who was her dance double)."

Είναι πραγματικά κρίμα να μας παιρνάνε για ηλίθιους και να κάνουν τέτοια χαζο-μαρκετινίστικα κόλπα [hey Fox, ever heard of the Streisand_effect? Wasted Malaka Fox! :-P

Interesting. This FoxSearchlight version edits out the head replacement, where ABT dancer Sarah Lane's head gets replaced by Natalie Portman's head. At 3:23 of the FoxSearchlight video, we see a dancer who is actually Sarah Lane start her turns. But about a second later there is an abrupt cut before you can see who the dancer really is. At this point, another video (which FoxSearchlight forced offline) showed Natalie Portman's head replacing Sarah Lane's head.

@princeLC Yes, I also saw the earlier version. It was pulled from YouTube early this morning by Fox and replaced with this version, which deliberately omits all the face/head replacements. A concerted effort by the Fox studio to propogate the lie that Natalie did her own dancing. Well, check out Friday's NYTimes Carpetbagger for the full scoop - they saw the earlier video, wrote about it and about Sarah Lane's head replacement as well! The truth will eventually come out!!!!!!

Continuing, as for the studio, the credits I recall seeing had the two key ballerinas as "stunts". The version of FX video posted here cuts out a prominent head replacement that was part of a version of the FX video that was previously posted elsewhere then taken down. So there is an appearance that the dancer's contributions are being discounted or ignored. Why that would be done however baffles me. Crediting the dancers would not diminish Ms Portman, but ignoring them makes her look bad.
